Victims of Crime

At Family Matters Counseling, we accept Victims of Crime (VOC/VCP) to cover counseling expenses.  We utilize Trauma-Focussed CBT and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to help clients process the trauma, reduce feelings of fear, guilt and anxiety and integrate the trauma memories into their past rather than having it continually activited in the present.
If you or someone close to you was injured or threatened with injury in a violent crime, California’s Victim Compensation Program (CalVCP) may help pay certain crime-related expenses, including mental health counseling.  If you need help completing the application, contact the Victims of Crime Resource Center at 1-800-VICTIMS.
